Looking for a comfortable, affordable alternative? You've found it! Two beautiful strawbale cottages await you at the Artful Lodger. Stay and experience functional, whimsical garden art everywhere and hammocks for lazing about. Hearty delicious breakfast choices with fruit and berries from the garden (in season) are always included with your stay.

During hot summer days the strawbale cottages stay wonderfully cool!

Rabia facilitates a wonderful and inspiring opportunity for those interested in creating their own sustainable systems based homes and gardens. You may consider an even longer stay as a retreat. Very peaceful and inspiring.

Just imagine...

The privacy of your own cottage, to wake up and wander barefoot into the gardens.

No city lights to interfere so you'll find wonderful opportunity to watch the brilliant night sky, even occasional northern lights.

The fragrant baskets of summer lavender in your cottage...

About Rabia your host:

Born in Holland. I have spent a number of years living and working in various parts of the world including 5 years in Hawaii and 1 year in Australia doing permaculture design and implementation. I also homesteaded for 15 years in the far North West of BC. You'll find me energetic friendly and adventurous. I play the flute and am an addicted reader. My organic permaculture based gardens and orchard reflect my love for the land, for growing things and for beauty.

My philosophy is one of simplicity, gratitude and beauty. To walk gently on the earth.

I am an artist, with my latest passion being rock carving and as you can see in the pictures mosaics (no surface is safe from my lustful eye). I can also not resist balancing rocks. Ask me about intro batik or mosaic classes during your stay.

Please feel free to send me an email: info@artfullodger.ca
